Combat
Above you see a typical in-game battle scenario. In it, your poor ship is being attacked by an overwhelming Order of Light force and particulary, by a D'Vor class heavy cruiser, which is quite a nasty acquaintance.
Location information field |
This field shows you basic location information, such as in what star system you're in and how far
is the closest or targeted celestial body.
Targeting information field |
Here you see the information scanners provide from the vessel you've targeted. Target's shields,
hull integrity and range as well as identification information is given.
| Active scanner (radar) display |
Active scanner subsystem creates this tactical image of all identified and unidentified contacts
within it's range. Your ship is displayed in the middle as a bluish arrow, hostile craft are red dots
whereas friendly and neutral ones are green. Asteroids and space debris is gray.
| System status display |
Your ship's battery energy (looks a bit different in v2.0x, but function is the same), atmospheric status and tactically safe distance is displayed.
Safe distance indicates how near you can go to a starship before your energy signature is picked up
- shutting down ship systems decreases this value, and makes undetected approach easier.
| Target indicator |
This line points to the ship you've targeted. Color indicates FOF-identification: red means hostile and
green friendly or neutral target craft.
| Heads Up Display (HUD) |
The most tactically important status information is shown here, such as your shield and hull integrity
status and any warnings onboard tactical computer might've issued. Pressing SPACEBAR will bring up
ship functions menu, which also occupies this space.
| Internal ship messaging |
Messages from your crew or various onboard computer subsystems are being displayed here. You can scroll
it up and down by holding mouse cursor above the message box and pressing PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN.
